My name is Karen Claypool.  I am the head coach of the Nevada Neptunes swim team. I have coached swimming for a total of 10 years in Grandview, Butler and now Nevada, MO.  My swimming career began at age 4 when I joined a summer club team in Kansas City, MO.  This moved to a year round habit when I began swimming for Raytown Seahawks at age 10 and continued there until college.   William Jewell  College and Kansas University offered me a scholarship to swim.  I chose to swim for William Jewell because of the academic path it took me towards my career as an Occupational Therapist.     My joy of swimming and the love of this sport is what brings me back each year to coach.  There is nothing more rewarding than coaching a swimmer and seeing them get out of a race with a smile on their face when they have realized they have dropped their time!!
